| We consider the possibility of modeling the digestion tract of a grasshopper as a series of chemical reactors. We will discuss the differences between plug flow reactors and batch reactors. The discussion will include deciding what chemical reactor model is appropriate for the various structures in the insects digestive system. We conclude by considering the potential of modeling the link between digestion and foraging behavior. |
