What gets you excited about Math?

Fully understanding a concept to the extent that I can begin to make connections to other mathematics topics I already know makes me the most excited with math.

Favorite math class or instructor? Why?

My favorite math class I've taken at UNL is MATH 314: Linear Algebra. I love Linear and has helped me a lot with other classes since Matrix-based math is so powerful and finds uses in every STEM discipline.

What are you excited about doing after graduation?

After graduation, I am looking forward to starting a job doing statistical analysis for a nonprofit or with the government.

What is a goal you have accomplished as a Husker?

When I graduate from UNL, I will be the first person in my family to graduate from a four-year institution.

What do you hope to cross off your “bucket list” in the next few years?

I hope within the next five years after graduation I return to my studies, getting a master's and ultimately a doctorate in mathematics or statistics.

What activities are you involved in on campus?

At UNL, I am the Primary Programmer for Pi Mu Epsilon, the national honors math society. I also work with the Office of Academic Success and Intercultural Services (OASIS) as a peer mentor, working with first year student as they merge into college. Finally, I work as a TA for the math department and I'm also a learning consultant with OASIS. These both give me one-on-one time with students to help understand and strengthen their understanding of math concepts.
