Jack Jeffries, an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics, has earned a Distinguished Teaching Award from the College of Arts and Sciences. The award honors consistently excellent teaching.
Jeffries' research is in Commutative Algebra, including invariant theory, positive characteristic techniques, differential operators, local cohomology, generalized multiplicities, symbolic powers, p-derivations, and applications to neuroscience.
