Ally Nagasawa-Hinck is a third-year PhD student at the University of California, Davis, specializing in low-dimensional topology and knot theory. Under the guidance of Dr. Jennifer Schultens, she is currently exploring knot theory through the algebraic frameworks of quandles and racks. As a teaching assistant, she is dedicated to creating an engaging and inclusive classroom that supports the development of students’ mathematical maturity. Ally also plays guitar and has written a few self-described nerdy math songs.
