Originally from New York state, Lauren attended Wellesley College (a small women's liberal arts college) as an undergrad and then the University of California, Berkeley for her PhD. She is now a postdoc at the University
of Nebraska, Lincoln, where she works in commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. Lauren has always liked math but did not always know what a graduate student, postdoc, or professor actually did. She also enjoys music, biking, and meeting younger mathematicians!
