Maciej Piwowarczyk is a Fourth-Year Doctoral Candidate at UNL. He is advised by Dr. Christine Kelley and his research field is Coding Theory, which studies the problem of transmitting information reliably and efficiently. He is currently researching designs of codes to be used in DNA data storage, where archival information is stored in synthetic, or artificially made, DNA strands. Useful in this research is Graph theory, which is Maciej’s favorite math topic to talk about! Outside of school, Maciej is a big fan of board games, video games, and cooking! His most recent passion project is coding a platformer from scratch!
