MAT Thesis Project Mentor 
Summer 2021
Mentored four groups of in-service teachers completing their Masters of Arts in Teaching on their thesis projects. We met regularly through the summer, and I answered questions they had about the content of their projects and provided feedback on their drafts before they were submitted to the thesis committee.

Leader, Graduate Student Real Analysis Qualifying Exam Workshop    
May 2020 Led a two-week workshop which prepared first-year graduate students at UNL for the Math 825
- 826: Mathematical Analysis I & II sequence qualifying exam. The workshop met for 4 hours
daily; I prepared workshop materials, reviewed course material with students, and facilitated discussion amongst the groups.

First-Year Graduate Student Mentor    
Fall 2020 - Spring 2021 Participated in the First-Year Graduate Student Mentorship Program in which I was paired with a first-year graduate student in the math department. My mentee and I met biweekly during the
academic year where we discussed classes, the transition to graduate school, and any other topics
my mentee wanted to discuss. I also made sure my mentee was aware of additional resources on campus that were relevant to her.

Panelist, panel on “Graduate School in Mathematics”    
April 2019 Invited to serve on a panel titled “Graduate School in Mathematics”, hosted by the UNL Pi Mu Epsilon Chapter. During the panel discussion, we covered topics including: preparing for
graduate school, such as choosing courses, participating in REU’s, other undergraduate research
opportunities; attending conferences; graduate school applications; applying for fellowships such as the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program; and what being a graduate student in mathematics entails.

Facilitator, Cougars and Houston Area Math Program (CHAMP)

Created and taught mathematics lessons, provided tutoring, and co-organized enrichment ac-tivities, including an annual summer “Algebra Bootcamp”, for CHAMP, a community outreach program for underserved middle and high school students in inner-city Houston.

Fall 2022 Organized a weekly lunch for the Operator Theory research group at UNL.

Spring 2020 Answered prospective student questions about various aspects of graduate student life at UNL, including coursework, research, department culture, and living in Lincoln.

Fall 2019 - Spring 2020 Attended monthly university-wide meetings, sent out monthly newsletter to the math graduate students summarizing meeting outcomes, and served on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee,
which met monthly.

Fall 2018 - Spring 2019 Organized the annual UNL AMS Colloquium, which included a talk given by Fields Medalist speaker Dr. June Huh and a lunch for graduate students to network with the speaker; organized
the annual Pi Day Baking Competition and Celebration; and organized an end of the year lunch
social.

Volunteer, Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Math    
2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 Talked with female undergraduate students about mathematics graduate school, provided tech-nical support for undergraduate research talks, and represented the UNL math department at
the conference banquet.

 Used in a graduate numerical linear algebra course and an undergraduate statistics course; including: wrote functions to perform QR-factorizations to solve general systems; wrote programs for the power and inverse power methods to approximate eigenvalues of large matrices.
