Susan Hermiller has received the College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Research and Creative Activity Award for significant research and creative accomplishments.
Last year she and Mark Brittenham disproved a fundamental, 88-year-old conjecture in knot theory, which garnered press, surprised experts in the field, and will have implications for many other outstanding problems.
